How to delete your MediSnap account

You can delete your MediSnap account and all associated data at any time. There are two ways to do it.
Option 1 — Delete in the app
- Open the MediSnap app on your phone.
- Tap Profile (bottom navigation).
- Tap Settings.
- Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete account.
- Confirm by typing your email address, then tap Delete permanently.
Your account will be deactivated immediately. Permanent deletion of your documents, OCR-extracted text, translations, and account metadata is completed within 30 days. Encrypted backups containing your data are purged within an additional 60 days.
Option 2 — Delete by email
If you no longer have access to the app, you can request account deletion by email:
- Send an email to support@rolipolicanarias.com.
- Use the email address that is linked to your MediSnap account so we can verify the request.
- Use the subject line: Delete my MediSnap account.
- Optionally include your full name and the country you used at sign-up to help us locate the account.
We will confirm receipt within 48 hours (Monday to Friday) and complete the deletion within 30 days, in line with Article 17 GDPR.
What gets deleted
- All medical documents you uploaded.
- OCR-extracted text and translation history.
- Folder structure, timeline entries, tags, and sharing records.
- Account profile (email, name, password hash, sign-in tokens).
- Personal usage analytics linked to your account.
What may be retained
- Anonymised, aggregated analytics that cannot be linked back to you.
- Records we are legally required to keep (for example, accounting records for paid subscriptions, retained under Spanish commercial and tax law).
- Security and abuse-prevention logs, retained for the minimum period necessary and not used to re-identify you.
Before you delete — export your data
If you want to keep a copy of your documents before deleting your account, use Profile > Settings > Export all data in the app to download a ZIP file containing your documents and PDF summaries. This option is also available before in-app deletion.
Changed your mind?
If you started the deletion in the app and have not yet confirmed, simply close the dialog. If you have already confirmed but the 30-day permanent deletion has not yet completed, contact support@rolipolicanarias.com as soon as possible and we will do our best to cancel the deletion. After permanent deletion is complete, your data cannot be restored.
